For an amazing day trip away from the hustle and bustle of Seoul, head down south to an area called Gwacheon. It is easily accessible from Line 4 (Baby Blue subway line). Our adventure started at Seoul Racecourse Park and ended at Seoul Grand Park (a total of two stops!) Within these two stops, there are some amazing activities to do.

Being an English teacher for Chungdahm does not mean that you are restricted to a itinerary everyday like most people think. There is flexibility within your classroom by being able to incorporate other fun things into the everyday schedule. One special class that I had with my amazing Memory Tera students who are extremely young in age is allowing the to participate in a bucket list check off for me.

A couple halloweens ago, I decided to dress up like a pirate, eye patch included. I had a rip roaring good time and longed to don my pirate garb once more. But I couldn't repeat costumes every halloween! So, when I heard about a pirate ship party in Busan, I was pleasantly surprised and more than ready to jump aboard.

I'm all about the music. I am up for any concert, just ask. With only a month and a bit before I leave (tear tear), lately I've been reminicing about all I've managed to experience while teaching and livng in Korea (Are you ready?). I am amazed at how much I have done in such a short amount of time, especially when I think about all the concerts I've attended. It seems like ages ago, but at this time last year I was preparing to witness Lady Gaga's first and very controvercial world tour stop in Seoul. A short while later I joined happy-go-lucky young Koreans lounging on Nami Island for the annual Rainbow Island Festival with Jason Mraz as the headliner.

With about 70% of the Korean peninsula covered with mountains, the hiking culture dominates the the Land of Kimchi. In my spare time from teaching English, I went for a short hike up Mt. Dobongsan near my home a few weeks ago. I have a ways to go if I want to start calling myself a "hiker", but here are my thoughts thus far...
