If buffet chain restaurants were a flock of teenage girls, Seven Springs would be the Queen Bee demonstrating the supreme art of smörgåsbord dining in Seoul, Korea.

From time to time while teaching English in Korea, you'll most likely get cravings for non-Korean meals and snacks. Itaewon, an international neighborhood in Seoul, offers a selection of food from all over the world, including sweets that you're missing from home. Here is my list of the most suggested places for any foreigner to visit in Itaewon!

Tomatillos is the Korean equivalent of the American comfort food of Chipotle, literally. With branches all over Korea, you can get your Chipotle fix in Korea at any time that you want. Although it is not exactly the same as Chipotle, it is the closest you can get with a few exceptions. Nonetheless, it is an all time favorite place of English teachers in Korea, locals as well.

New Experiences While Teaching in Korea: Eating in the Complete Dark
Posted on Wed, Oct 10, 2012 @ 09:56 AM
One of the newest trends in dining is to eat at a Blind Restaurant. Yes, a blind restaurant where you eat in the dark as if you were blind. There are a few around the world which include Hong Kong, New York, San Francisco, London, and one in Korea. With one in Seoul of the Kongdae area by Konkuk University, it is a popular spot for couples to attend for a new style of dating, but it is recommended for all to experience in order to heighten their senses. As a expat teaching English in Korea, I decided to give it a try.

Everyone who knows me knows that I have the biggest sweet tooth and I can eat more dessert than any other course. I'm always asking for the dessert places, not just cafes that have slices of cakes and I finally found one that satisfies all my cravings. Things have not changed since I started teaching English in South Korea. The dessert bar Kyotofu
is a popular restaurant back in New York and is famous for its desserts. Opening one by Itaewon at the Hanganjin station in Hannam, this spot has been on my list for a while now. After finally paying a visit to the restaurant, it is a place I recommend for small groups, especially dates.
