A ChungDahm Teacher Reflects On Her Three Years In Korea

Since 2011, I have been teaching in Korea at ChungDahm's GangDong branch and have enjoyed everything about it. One of reasons why I ended up staying in Korea for so long is because of the people I've met. I have built relationships that will last me a lifetime, so when my colleague Erin Stuebben told me she was leaving I was really saddened. As she was packing for her move, I asked her if she could answer some questions for me  She was great about it and on her last working day on Friday at 5AM in the morning, I got her email response. How New ChungDahm Teachers Can Take Advantage of Veterans

Learning a new skill, like teaching, and moving to a new county can be rather intimidating! Once you complete your training week at Chungdahm Learning, you are shipped off to a whole new life and job. All of a sudden you are on your own and expected to teach a class full of eager and excited young learners. However, new teachers don’t realize that there are plenty of veteran teachers at their branch, who have already gone through everything they are experiencing and possibly have three to six years of teaching knowledge. These teachers at CDL are known as Veteran teachers and if you are lucky they might be ready to help you out and be more than happy to share their wisdom and expertise.

Chungdahm Learning offers many different courses, and every semester students take a various combination of classes that are focused on achieving, applying and learning new and old skills. The most prominent classes are called C2, VI, and A2. The Amazing Race with CDI: 20 Teams, 100 Tasks, 4 Hours.

The annual CDI Amazing Race was Sunday, 22 June. Twenty teams competed from all over Seoul and its surrounding satellite cities. Each team had to complete as many tasks as possible out of 100 tasks within 4 hours. With teams sprinting like crazy and having a whole lot of fun, Chungdahm Main Branch came in first, completing 67 tasks, with Daechi and Bundang coming in a close second and third.
